Villa Cetinale

Villa Cetinale

Villa Cetinale is a building located in the province of Siena; its Baroque landscape garden is one of the most important and evocative in Italy. The villa was built between 1676 and 1678 by Cardinal Flavio Chigi to a design by the architect Carlo Fontana, a pupil of the famous Bernini, on the occasion of the election to the papal throne of his uncle Fabio Chigi, with the name of Alexander VII.

The building was not conceived as a place of representation, but rather as a summer residence, where the Chigi family could retreat for short periods of rest. However, its vast gardens, which introduced French taste to Italy, were reproduced in many views. The structure was conceived to be exhibited in other Chigi residences, in order to spread the new style.

Villa Cetinale is a place of imposing, fascinating and timeless beauty, able to excite guests in every corner of it. I consider it the ideal place for a luxury wedding in a classic style where the bride and groom and their guests can enjoy Art and History.

Villa Catignano

Dating back to the second half of the 16th century, Villa Catignano owes its current appearance to a late 17th-century renovation.

Access is through a beautiful wrought iron gate, supported by two travertine pillars, which leads into a trapezoidal courtyard overlooking the main building, the vat room, the farm, the stables and the chapel, the latter built in 1697 based on a design by the Sienese sculptor and architect Jacopo Franchini.

The villa, consisting of a rectangular block, has no valuable decorative elements: the only external peculiarity is the completely rounded south-east corner on which the Sergardi family coat of arms is walled.

Villa Catignano, now owned by a descendant of the Sergardi Biringucci family, after being restored in the first half of the 20th century, is used as a tourist residence.

The garden is divided into three main areas: the first is made up of flowerbeds bordered by box hedges; the second is made up of a large lawn with lemon trees in large terracotta pots and fruit trees; the third, also a lawn, is located between the lemon house and a charming holm oak berceau (“cradle“).

The structure is perfect for a charming event and is a perfect meeting of style and taste within the magic of Tuscany.

La Foce

La Foce

Villa La Foce is an extraordinary property located in La Foce in Chianciano Terme, in the province of Siena. The villa, built on an original sixteenth-century nucleus, conceived as a post station and inn, was purchased with extensive surrounding land properties by the Origo family in 1924.

The garden, which is made up of three separate steps, placed at different heights, was created between 1924 and 1939, without losing its compositional unity.

At the edge of the path inside the woods, interspersed with other benches useful for admiring the splendid landscape, there is a small cemetery with a small chapel in travertine.

Some medieval and Renaissance urban jewels such as Pienza, Montepulciano, Monticchiello and Montalcino are just a few kilometers from the villa. The surrounding countryside offers beautiful walks in the woods and among the characteristic hills of the Crete Senesi.

The Tuscan culinary experience is first-rate and in the local cellars you can taste famous wines such as Brunello. All this becomes a unique and memorable experience for those who want to organize a romantic getaway or their honeymoon in this magical place.

Il Borro

Il Borro is a beautiful centuries-old village located in the heart of beautiful Tuscany and surrounded by a thousand hectares of organic land.

The village is located a few kilometers from Arezzo and is crossed by a Roman road, the famous Via Cassia. It takes its name from the castle that sits 275 m above sea level; the village is positioned at the top of a spire that dominates the surrounding landscape.

Thanks to a meticulous and majestic restoration that began in 1993, the village has returned to its ancient splendor and has become over time a place of tradition and culture and today you can breathe the true “Tuscan experience” more than ever.

In 1993 the Borro estate, which roughly coincides with the old town centre, was purchased by Ferruccio Ferragamo (icon of Italian Fashion), who transformed it into a widespread hotel where today it is possible to host a chic wedding with boho nuances.

Borgo Stomennano

Borgo Stomennano

The small village (borgo) of Stomennano was built on ancient Etruscan and Roman ruins that are still visible today: it seems that in ancient times it was an important Roman outpost. The name “Stomennano” probably derives from the Latin “strumentum” of “pacis” after the peace treaties stipulated between the local population and the Roman invaders.

In 1555 the Republic of Siena was incorporated into the Grand Duchy of Tuscany, making Stomennano and Monteriggioni belonging to the Medici family.

Borgo Stomennano is today a fascinating place that gives tranquility and an enchanting atmosphere to its guests: if you also dream of an exclusive wedding this place is perfect for you.

The Borgo produces top quality wine and oil: this is not an insignificant fact to make the experience in this suggestive place lost in the Tuscan countryside complete.

Castello di Celsa

Initially built as a castle, Villa Celsa was a defensive bastion of the Republic of Siena: it was transformed into a residence in the sixteenth century on the initiative of the owner Mino Celsi. It is therefore likely that its name derives from this Sienese family.

The sixteenth-century restoration is certainly attributable to the architect Baldassarre Peruzzi, due to the existence of a drawing, which describes the circular chapel and the arrangement of the terrace walls.

Despite numerous interventions undergone over the centuries, the building and its landscape context retain their sixteenth-century character.

The villa encloses within it a triangular courtyard, with refined classical proportions. The access to the villa, a tree-lined avenue, flows into the main terrace, crowned by the building of the circular chapel, of classical inspiration. Walking along the avenue you can enjoy the view of the Italian garden, arranged on a lower terrace, which is accessed through a gate between imposing columns with large decorative vases at the top.

I love this place very much and I recommend it to anyone who wants to set up a romantic, elegant and traditional wedding.
