The idea came from some memories of my past.
It was a tailor-made project for Mauro and Lisa (the protagonists of these shots), shared and strongly desired by me by choosing an all-female team of excellence, made up of whimsical women, free from any design superstructure and endowed with extraordinary sensitivity. The team was made up from the highly organized Sara Poli, coordinator and wedding planner; Cinzia Bettini of CreareIn, a delicate floral designer and Elena De Boni, for preparations and arrangements.
We have written a story, our story… to show the ideas and inspiration of our combined minds and the hands that make them!
I had set myself the difficult goal of narrating Love, perhaps in a more true and ancestral way than how it is usually portrayed. For this, I used a language that links fairy tale and reality, merging thoughts, feelings and carnal passion. The love that is shared between Mauro and Lisa is a love story with elements that are so strongly connected and yet, so far from common expectations.
The summer sun warmed hearts and desires and framed a picturesque, unspoilt beach, inserted in the context of a passionate environment of a protected botanical park, that of Porto Caleri, along the Venetian Coast that descends not far from the estuary of the Po. The details of such a scene do not escape the photography of a Venetian wedding photographer; hands that seek hands, communicate with the wind, moving like invisible threads in the air and creating the strongest of connections. The wind unites the waves, hair, and thoughts and helps to create a scene of indescribable emotions.
Free to design for our spouses, we thought of a simple setting like a fishing port. The setting would feature people who work hard every day, their faces and hands marked not only by time! Nature and the air were buzzing with never whispered stories. This is the scenography of the overture: Mauro, the groom, who returns as he had done when he was a child, ignores the passage of time and returns to the past, playing with stones in the water. His proud gaze looks towards the infinite border between sky and water, suspended between dream and reality. Lisa prepares herself in the dunes that so much resemble her, so moved and soft, sweet curves that rest between woods and shells.
Their ceremony is intimate. An exchange of promises between two people, essential but pure. Lisa reaches Mauro on horseback, like a proud muse, as only a woman who has suffered can really be. There is a rhythmic pace, trotting by the sea near Venice, dancing in the waves… It is a game of mirrors because our protagonists have chosen what to be. It’s nice to look in the mirror and recognize yourself!
A log cabin, the red sun setting, lights that mix, wax candles, and overlapping hearts. All the while, nature participates everywhere as they say their fateful, “YES, I WILL”.
The delicacy of the table mixes with the botanical garden. The care and choice of details is paramount. The stabilized flowers include clematis, amaranths, protee, and a proud astilbe that accompanies the limonium embracing itself among grasses, shrubs and brushwood. A perfect setting for bodies that merge and hearts that seek each other. A love story that is over the top because nothing is the same as the stories of others.
Sweetness and passion flow into serene abandonment in a bed lying on clear waters. And, between a bite and a caress, the waves lull their most carnal thoughts, letting those thoughts carry them away, far away, because they know how to love each other as lovers, tell each other as accomplices, and help each other as true friends. Only in this way will they build their “forever”.
